OCMA Membership Update

Hello Orange County Managers!

We are well into the New Year and we would like to update the membership on what is going on in a number of areas of concern.

First and foremost, we are in negotiations with the County for a successor MOU to the agreement that expired in Jan 2014.  Negotiations with the County began prior to the MOU expiring, however over the following months, progress was slow and it was beneficial to both sides to step back, regroup and wait until conditions improved so that we could reach a successful outcome.  We have been back at the bargaining table since early 2015 and have made steady progress.  We continue to fight for the best interest of all Managers.  It is our sincere hope that we can come to an agreement that addresses the collective concerns of the majority of Managers.   It is important to understand that rumors may surface concerning specific proposals.  However, until the offer is presented to the Membership as a whole, nothing has been agreed to or adopted.

I’m sure the next questions are “how much and when”, but it is a bit premature to speculate at this point in time.  We are committed to working diligently toward reaching an agreement as soon as possible.

Good News! – The 2014 Market/Equity process is now completed and by now all those who submitted a request last year has received notification of the outcome of their individual request.  Out of the 166 requests submitted, 98 were granted increases with an average increase of 6.6%.

Baseball season is right around the corner and OCMA will be selling discount Angels tickets again this year.  Once tickets and more details become available, members will be notified via e-mail and a web site posting at OCMA.info

Please mark on your calendar the next OCMA Membership Meeting.  It is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29th at 12:00 noon.  A new location has been selected where Managers can enjoy their lunch before, during or after the meeting.  Members will be notified when more details become available.

Discount Movie Tickets are available year round and may be purchased via mail (self addressed stamped envelope required) or in person at the OCMA office (call in advance to insure Mark is there).   Note:  Members are limited to 24 tickets per year and 12 within any one-month.
